Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you worship on Saturday?
Saturday is the original Sabbath day before it was changed.
What are your services like?
Our services and our people provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We begin our services by singing praise and worship to our Lord. That worshipful time ushers us into His presence and prepares our hearts for His word to receive a life-changing and life-applicable message.
What should I expect when I visit for the first time?
You will be welcomed by friendly people who are genuinely happy to see you!
How can I be discipled and meet others?
In addition to our Saturday evening services and fellowship time afterward, we have Tuesday evening Bible study at 6 pm. For the ladies, there is a ministry event the second Sunday of the month at 1 pm (location to be determined - please check the events page). Men meet on the third Saturday of the month at 8 am at JoJos restaurant in Elkton, MD. Youth meet once per month on the 1st Friday of the month at 7pm (location varies - please check the events page). Our leaders and pastor also encourage questions! We love discussions and diving deep.
How do I contact the pastor or a different leader?
We encourage you to email Pastor Frank at pastorfrank@gracechurchofnewark.com, and he will forward your email to the appropriate person.
How can I give?
If attending in person, you are welcome to give by placing your tithe or offering in the basket on the table in the back. If you are a virtual attendee, you can give by visiting the “Give” tab.
What do you believe?
Please visit the “About Us” tab to access our Beliefs, Vision, and Purpose.
When does the church offer Communion?
We offer Communion on the first Saturday of each month for a time of remembrance of the sacrifice our Lord and Savior made for us.
When should I take Communion?
If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and have asked Him to forgive your sins, you are welcome to partake in Communion. Children should fully understand what Jesus did for him/her, what sins are, as well as why they need forgiveness. We trust the parents to make that decision so as not to bring judgement upon themselves and their children.
Do I have to belong to your denomination to attend?
No, not at all! We are not affiliated with any denomination because we have found them to be filled with man-made rules that override the Word of God in many ways. We consider ourselves non-denominational because of that reason. Our beliefs are one hundred percent out of the Word of God and are implemented as so. We believe God has the final authority on all things and the church is no exception.
What kind of outreach is the church involved in?
Grace Church of Newark tithes to “God Behind Bars”, “A Door of Hope Pregnancy Center”, as well as Justin and Danielle Sauder, missionaries to Zambia. We also have big plans for some local outreach and would love you to join us in affecting change in our community!
Why does Grace Church of Newark practice baptism by immersion?
The Bible states that baptism is “Baptizo” in the original Greek. This word means submerged under the water and brought back up. We align with the Word of God in every facet.
What do I need to do to join?
Attend services to make sure that God is calling you to Grace Church of Newark. We periodically offer “Membership Class” that gives more information about the church and is a great time you have your questions answered. We ask that you attend this class and decide if you would like to join. If you do, you can fill out the membership form when you feel ready to make that commitment.
What if my question wasn’t answered here?
